Premises, Facilities and Technical Support Manager job summary

Are you a strategic leader with a passion for excellence in premises & facilities management? Christ the King College is looking for a dynamic and experienced Premises, Facilities & Technical Support Manager to take the lead in ensuring our campus is safe, secure, and inspiring for students and staff alike.


This is a pivotal middle leadership position responsible for the efficient management of the College site and its related functions. You will be at the heart of our operations, leading a dedicated team to maintain a high-quality learning environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Team Leadership: Lead, manage, and coach the Premises and Technical Support teams, acting as a professional role model and ensuring high standards of work.
  • Operations & Maintenance: Overlook all reactive repairs and planned maintenance programs, ensuring the College environment is kept in the best possible condition.
  • Building Compliance: Maintain the College’s compliance systems to administer statutory testing and servicing, ensuring all legal requirements for site management are met.
  • Health & Safety Leadership: Take the lead role in Health, Safety, and Fire Safety Management, identifying risks and implementing robust safety policies across the College.
  • Resource & Contract Management: Manage the Premises and Facilities budgets, alongside overseeing service contracts such as cleaning, grounds maintenance, and building projects.


We are seeking an individual with a practical aptitude and a methodical, professional approach to work.

The successful candidate will ideally:

  • Have significant experience in building maintenance, construction, or a facilities management capacity.
  • Have proven experience in leading and managing staff, with the ability to motivate others.
  • Have a deep knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, including COSHH, Legionella, Fire Safety and building technology.
  • Have strong organisational and IT skills and the ability to analyse data and present reports to various audiences.
  • Take pride in their work and enjoy working with young people and have the energy, drive and passion to ensure our students have a safe and enjoyable learning environment to enable them to achieve their potential

Christ the King College is a joint Church of England and Catholic College on the Isle of Wight, providing a Christian education underpinned by Gospel values and reflecting both Church of England and Catholic traditions.
