We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and motivated Primary Sports Instructor who is passionate about physical education, children's wellbeing and encouraging all pupils to enjoy being active.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A relevant Level 3 sports qualification or equivalent demonstrable experience, with experience of delivering sports coaching or physical education in a primary school or similar setting.

  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills, with the confidence to lead whole-class PE lessons independently, including during teachers' PPA time, under appropriate school direction and supervision.

  • A good understanding of the primary PE curriculum, including planning, delivering and adapting engaging, progressive and inclusive activities.

  • Experience of organising and running extracurricular sports clubs, competitions and activities that encourage participation.

  • The ability to support children with additional needs, including delivering sensory circuits and small-group physical development, fitness and coordination interventions.

  • A commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles, including physical activity, healthy eating and positive mental wellbeing.

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to follow a structured timetable, maintain accurate records and work effectively with pupils, colleagues and parents.

  • A sound understanding of safeguarding, health and safety and the importance of following school policies and procedures.

  • The ability to work independently, use initiative and respond flexibly to the changing demands of a busy primary school.

Just as importantly, we are looking for the right personality. Someone who genuinely enjoys working with children, builds positive relationships, brings energy and creativity to activities and has a good sense of humour.
