About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SENDCo (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator) to join SLT in our friendly and inclusive primary school. This is a non-teaching role, working 2 days per week, focused on leading, managing and developing high-quality SEND provision across the school.

You will play a key role in ensuring that pupils with SEND receive the support they need to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage whole school SEND provision in line with the SEND Code of Practice
  • Identify, assess and monitor pupils with SEND
  • Coordinate and evaluate interventions to ensure impact
  • Work closely with staff to support high-quality inclusive teaching
  • Liaise with parents/carers, external agencies and the Local Authority
  • Ensure statutory processes (including EHCPs and reviews) are met
  • Maintain accurate SEND records and contribute to school improvement planning
  • Provide training and guidance for staff to support inclusive practice

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • National Award for SEN Coordination
  • Proven experience working with pupils with a range of SEND needs
  • Strong organisational, communication and leadership skills
  • A commitment to inclusion and improving outcomes for all learners
  • The ability to work collaboratively with staff, families and external professionals
