What skills and experience we're looking for
About the Role
Yewlands Academy is seeking an exceptional and dedicated Primary Teacher to join our specialist Reconnect Provision, working with a cohort of students who are not yet secondary-ready. This is a unique and rewarding opportunity for an experienced practitioner to use their primary teaching expertise to support some of our most vulnerable learners as they transition successfully into secondary education.
Our Reconnect Provision is designed for students who arrive at secondary school significantly below age-related expectations in literacy, numeracy and core learning skills. Many have experienced barriers to learning, disrupted educational experiences, low confidence, poor attendance, SEND needs, social and emotional challenges, or difficulties engaging with the wider curriculum.
As a Reconnect Teacher, you will provide high-quality teaching, intervention and pastoral support to small groups of students, helping them develop the foundational knowledge, skills and learning behaviours required to access the secondary curriculum and achieve long-term success.
This role offers the opportunity to make a transformational difference to students at a critical point in their educational journey.
