Primary Teacher job summary
This is an incredible opportunity for a Primary Teacher (KS1/KS2) to make a difference and join a great team of people within a supportive, values-led organisation in our primary provision. This is a permanent post on the MPS-UPS pay scale, and for an appropriately qualified candidate a TLR payment is available to take on additional teaching and learning responsibility.
As a Primary Teacher at Ormiston Beachcroft Academy, you will play a vital role in inspiring curiosity, confidence and a love of learning in pupils who may have found mainstream education challenging. You will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging and accessible lessons across the primary curriculum, taking responsibility for the learning and progress of a key stage, and working closely with parents, carers and other professionals to support each pupil’s development and reintegration.
We’d love to hear from you if you’re a qualified teacher with experience across KS1 and/or KS2 who believes every child deserves a fresh start. Perhaps you’ve already supported pupils with additional needs - such as social, emotional and mental health needs, ASD or ADHD - or perhaps you’re simply passionate about doing so. Either way, you’ll know what great teaching looks like and how to help children make real progress. You’ll be a warm, clear communicator who enjoys building strong relationships with pupils, families and colleagues alike, and you’ll share our commitment to inclusion and to keeping every child safe and supported.
About our Academy
Located in Westminster Ormiston Beachcroft Academy provides a caring environment based on integrity, mutual respect, and understanding. It seeks to reignite passion in education and aspiration. Each learner is treated as an individual and is supported to develop within an environment that develops a love of learning and the ability to create social and emotional skills fit for the world outside of education.
Our approach considers our young people’s education experiences to date, their social-emotional health, their mental health, their family situation and experiences, and their special educational needs (SEN). We work closely with professionals, families, and other practitioners to affect change in our young people’s lives, ensuring our work is holistic and therefore creates success by any means for all our children. We are proud of the work that we do, and the environment of our school is caring supportive, and inclusive. We believe that through this approach we support our children, enhancing their quality of life and promoting the realisation of their aspirations.
Ofsted (September 2021) commented:
“Pupils enjoy coming to Ormiston Beachcroft Academy. Staff work closely with pupils. They find out about their needs and the barriers to learning they may have had at their previous schools. Pupils said that they know the staff cares about them and their well-being.”
