What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has QTS and a strong understanding of primary teaching pedagogy
  • Has experience working with children with SEMH needs, or a genuine passion to develop in this area
  • Is nurturing, patient, and skilled in behaviour management
  • Can plan and deliver a creative, engaging, and adapted curriculum
  • Works collaboratively with a team of teaching assistants, and external professionals
  • Is committed to inclusive education and understands the importance of emotional well-being in learning

We are seeking a committed and compassionate Class Teacher to join our dedicated team in the SEMH unit at Maltby Manor Academy, a nurturing and inclusive primary school that puts children’s well-being at the heart of everything we do.

About the Role:

The SEMH unit provides targeted support for pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs, offering a bespoke curriculum and a supportive, therapeutic environment. The successful candidate will work with a small group of pupils, delivering high-quality, differentiated teaching that promotes academic progress alongside emotional development.
