What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for a highly motivated experienced Principal, with a proven track record, working in a good or outstanding school, that can lead Beck Row through the next stage of its journey. We are looking for a leader who can uphold and embrace the consistency of high expectations Beck Row have become accustomed to.

This is an exciting time to join Beck Row Primary Academy. Our recent Ofsted inspection in December 2023, judged Beck Row to be a Good school in all areas, and recognised the journey the academy had been on since the previous inspection. We are looking for a principal who can help us continue this journey to becoming an Outstanding school.

You will have the opportunity to engage and collaborate with our other academies across the trust during these exciting times, as we learn from each other and improve together. As a trust we have recently delivered our first Outstanding Secondary Academy, will you be the first to deliver Beck Row as our First Outstanding Primary Academy.

The position will suit an existing Principal with experience of delivering exceptional standards, who can lead this academy to future success. You will have the opportunity to work with the Acting Director of Primary Education to shape the way in which you will lead the school to positively impact the educational development of all pupils.

What the school offers its staff

Beck Row Academy is a well led, mutually supportive team; there is a very strong commitment to improving standards. The appointed candidate will work collaboratively with colleagues and will be supported by our teaching and learning team including Lead Practitioners and a strong SLT.

Why choose Beck Row Academy? At Beck Row Primary Academy, our motto is To Inspire, To Achieve, and we have created a calm and welcoming environment where every child feels secure, valued and respected. We’re confident that the diverse and rich community at our academy will give them the best possible start and the widest range of friends from all cultures and backgrounds. Join us in preparing them for success in today’s fast-changing world.

In return, you can expect fantastic Professional Development opportunities, a comprehensive employee benefits package, shopping discounts, cycle-to-work and gym schemes, cinema tickets and an employee assistance programme.

Commitment to safeguarding

The successful applicant will undertake an enhanced DBS criminal record check, and online searches will be carried out in line with KCSIE update 2023. We are committed to Diversity, Equality and Inclusion and welcome all applications. We are open to Flexible Working.

Beck Row Primary Academy is in the growing village of Beck Row, just a couple of miles from the market town of Mildenhall and opposite RAF Mildenhall base. Over recent years, we have expanded through Suffolk’s School Re-organisation process from a small First school to a growing Primary school and we currently have about 250 pupils on roll. We are proud to be part of Academy Transformation Trust, a Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) with academies locally and in other areas of the UK.

We aim to inspire all our pupils to achieve well and enjoy learning, with an exciting and enriching topic-based curriculum.

Our values of thoughtfulness, co-operation, morality and respect are lived by us all in myriad ways each day as the Beck Row family, preparing our pupils for life as active citizens in Modern Britain. We support each other in times of need and celebrate success together.
