Contract: Permanent

Hours: 40 hours, 52 weeks per annum

Working pattern: Monday to Friday – rotating shift hours will be 6am to 2pm & 12.30pm to 8:30pm. Holiday shift hours will be 6am to 2pm & 10am to 6pm.

Salary: Pathway 2, £26,382 - £28,099 per annum

Your role:

As a Property Services Officer, you’ll be at the heart of Thomas Deacon Academy’s operations ensuring the security, safety, and functionality of our buildings and grounds. From managing heating systems and supporting contractors to carrying out essential maintenance and porterage duties, your work will directly support the daily life of students and staff. You’ll also play a key role in upholding health and safety standards and responding to the practical needs of the academy with initiative and care.

You have experience in maintenance or a similar role, and you are confident using a range of tools and can work both independently and as part of a team. A full clean driving licence is essential, and knowledge of health and safety procedures is a must. If you have a relevant trade qualification or experience in an educational setting, that’s a bonus.

Our Facilities Team plays a crucial role in ensuring that all the Trust's schools and academies operate smoothly and efficiently. They are responsible for maintaining the security, functionality, and cleanliness of the premises, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

The team works collaboratively across various locations within the Trust, providing essential services such as managing access, lighting, and heating systems, as well as offering porter services and handyperson skills. Their work is vital in supporting the educational mission of TDET by allowing educators to focus on teaching and learning.

By ensuring that the physical environment of the schools is well-maintained and conducive to learning, the Facilities Team significantly contributes to the overall success and well-being of the Trust's educational community.
