What skills and experience we're looking for
Oakfield Primary Academy is looking to recruit a Receptionist & Administrative Assistant to cover maternity leave on a fixed term contract until 31 December 2025.
The role is for 14 hours per week 8.30am – 4pm, 2 full days per week, 39 weeks per year, which days per week are worked can be discussed at interview. You will be paid on Kent Range 4, £23,338 full time equivalent, actual pro rata salary £7,663.33 based on 14 hours per week, 39 weeks per year.
You would be responsible for:
Reception duties:
- greeting parents, children and visitors,
- DBS Checks,
- answering queries,
- opening post and parcels,
- ensuring front of school is presentable,
- providing tea and coffee to visitors on request.
Administration duties:
- answering phone calls,
- report requests on Arbor,
- phoning parents,
- staff absence and request for leave reporting,
- Arbor comms and parent setup queries,
- afterschool club admin,,
- dinner debt chasing,
- class Dojo posts.
The successful candidate will be required to:
- have an eye for details and efficient grammar skills,
- be able to work under pressure in a very busy office which can be noisy at times,
- keep your cool under pressure and to be able to show empathy to parents and carers with a smile at all times.

Oakfield Primary Academy is situated on the borders of Dartford and Bexley, serving Dartford and Wilmington.
Judged by Ofsted in 2014 as a GOOD school, we are working hard to provide the best possible experiences for all children.
