BCTSA SCITT is a medium-large provider of teacher training in the West Midlands. 2024-25 was the first year of operation for the SCITT. Our ultimate goal is to grow great teachers who will transform the lives of the pupils they teach. Our mission statement is Inspire Teach Excel:

Excel: To serve our community by developing exceptional teachers.

There were 112 trainees training in 2024-25. There were 78 trainees in the secondary phase and 34 in the primary phase. BCTSA SCITT has 10 Lead Partners, including Multi-Academies across the West Midlands. BCTSA SCITT offers QTS only, QTS+ PGCE, part time, and salaried teacher training routes in. In the first year of operation of the SCITT we have established ourselves as a skilled provider of teacher training, in which partnership working with schools and staff across the Midlands has been key to our success.

We are looking for a new member of staff to join our close-knit team working to recruit trainee teachers onto our courses. In this role, you will be focussed on driving recruitment to our local partner schools, as well as working closely with the delivery team on organising placements for trainees throughout the year.

Bishop Challoner Training School SCITT is a designation of Bishop Challoner Catholic College. Bishop Challoner Catholic College is a highly successful, heavily over-subscribed mixed 11-19 Catholic comprehensive school in the South of Birmingham. The school was designated one of the first 100 Teaching Schools in the country and is also a lead school for the Central Maths Hub, and the Schools Sports Partnership. These designations reflect the high achievements of the school and its excellence in training and developing staff.
