Location: Peterborough Region, with travel across Greenwood Academies Trust sites as required.

About Us:

Greenwood Academies Trust is a large, successful and values-driven multi-academy trust supporting 39 academies across the East Midlands and East of England. We are committed to providing outstanding learning environments that are safe, compliant, welcoming and fit for purpose for the thousands of pupils and staff who learn and work within our schools.

We are seeking an exceptional Regional Premises Manager to join our Estates Team and take responsibility for our seven academies in the Peterborough region, whilst also providing support to other academies across the Trust, which may include Nottinghamshire, Northamptonshire and the East Coast. The line management for our Estates Service sits centrally within the organisation as part of the Operations Directorate.

Whilst not essential, it would be highly beneficial for candidates to be based within or close to the Peterborough area due to the geographical focus of the role.

The Role of a Regional Premises Manager:

This is a varied and rewarding position for an experienced estates or facilities professional who enjoys building strong relationships, leading teams and ensuring educational environments remain safe, compliant and operationally effective.

As Regional Premises Manager, you will work closely with Principals, Academy Leadership Teams, Premises Staff, contractors and external partners to deliver a high-quality estates management service across your portfolio of academies.

The role operates on a hybrid working model, typically comprising:

  • Approximately three days per week visiting academy sites
  • Approximately two days per week working from home

As an Estates team we pride ourselves on offering flexibility and understanding that priorities can change week to week depending on operational requirements, projects and academy needs.

What We're Looking For:

We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates who possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and who thrive in customer-facing environments.

You will be confident communicating with staff at all levels, from Premises Assistants and contractors through to Principals and senior Trust leaders. You will understand the importance of building positive professional relationships whilst also maintaining high standards and accountability.

Essential Requirements:

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • Experience in estates, facilities, property or premises management.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of an organisation.
  • Strong customer service skills and experience working in customer-facing environments.
  • Sound knowledge of safeguarding requirements within school environments, including the safe management of contractors and works whilst pupils are on site.
  • A thorough understanding of statutory compliance within educational buildings, including health and safety compliance requirements.
  • Experience managing maintenance programmes and planned works.
  • Proven project management experience, including the delivery of improvement and maintenance projects.
  • Experience procuring, managing and overseeing contractors.
  • Demonstrable experience of line managing and developing small teams.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple sites.
  • Strong IT skills and the ability to utilise compliance and management systems effectively, as well as work with us to develop our SMART campus strategy.
  • A full UK driving licence, access to a vehicle and willingness to travel throughout the Trust.

The Estates Team:

Our Estates Team is one of the Trust's greatest strengths. You will be joining a team of dedicated professionals who genuinely support one another and are passionate about delivering exceptional environments for our academies.

The team consists of:

  • Trust Estates & Quality Assurance Manager (Line Manager)
  • Four other Regional Premises Managers
  • Estates Officer
  • Premises Leaders based within our Secondary Academies
  • Premises Officers based within our Primary and Special Academies
  • Premises Assistants and Regional Premises Assistants working across multiple academy sites

We work collaboratively, share expertise openly and support each other to overcome challenges. We are incredibly proud of the journey we are on and the positive impact we make across our academies every day.

The successful candidate will receive a comprehensive induction programme, ongoing training opportunities and the support required to thrive within the role.
