About St George’s Boarding Team
The Boarding Department at St George’s is made up of a group of passionate and very talented individuals who are eager to make a positive impact on young minds. There are three boarding houses at St George’s: Keswick House (girls boarding), Crosthwaite House (boys boarding) and Skiddaw House (Year 13 students).
The Crosthwaite House (boys boarding) consists of two Residential Houseparents, The Head and Deputy Head of the Boarding House along with visiting tutors and non-residential houseparents. All residential staff contribute to providing pastoral care, support and guidance to boarders resident in the Boarding House.
In September 2023, our Boarding provision obtained an Outstanding judgement carried out by Ofsted’s routine social care inspection. Additionally, in March 2025, we were judged Outstanding by Ofsted in all areas: the quality of education; behaviour and attitudes; personal development; leadership and management; and sixth-form provision.

About the Role
We are seeking a vibrant and caring Residential Houseparent to join our Boarding Team. This is a residential role and you will be required to reside in the Boarding House when on duty. If shortlisted, we are happy to show you around the accommodation and our school.
This role involves a wide range of duties, ranging from tending boarders who are unwell to accompanying them on exciting trips and activities. You will play a vital role in the daily lives of our boarders and will be an integral part of the school’s wellbeing offering.
The successful candidate should:
Have experience of working with young people
Have a positive and energetic approach to working with young people
Have a desire to work as part of an exciting and dynamic team
Have a keen eye for detail and record keeping
Be excited to work as part of a diverse community and celebrate the cultures within it
Hold (or be working towards) a valid driving license
