At Hamstead Hall Academy, we are seeking an exceptional Designated Safeguarding Lead to join our dedicated team and play a vital role in protecting, supporting and empowering our young people.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced safeguarding professional who is passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people. Working closely with senior leaders, pastoral teams, families and external agencies, you will lead and coordinate safeguarding practices across the Academy, ensuring every student receives the support they need to thrive.

What You'll Do
  • Lead and oversee safeguarding processes and procedures across the Academy.
  • Act as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, providing expert advice and guidance to staff.
  • Manage and monitor safeguarding referrals, records and interventions.
  • Work collaboratively with families, social care, health services and external agencies.
  • Champion the welfare, attendance, mental health and wellbeing of vulnerable students.
  • Lead on Children in Care support, PEP meetings and vulnerable student provision.
  • Deliver training, challenge practice and drive continuous improvement in safeguarding standards.
What We're Looking For

We are seeking someone who:

  • Has substantial experience supporting children and young people.
  • Has a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Is experienced in managing complex caseloads and working with external agencies.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication, relationship-building and organisational skills.
  • Can remain calm under pressure while managing competing priorities.
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children.
