What skills and experience we're looking for
The Role
Bents Green School is seeking to appoint a highly skilled and talented Safeguarding Manager to drive and further develop the safeguarding culture throughout our school. This is a permanent Grade 7 role (37 hours/52 weeks per year) to start in September 2026.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will have Advanced Safeguarding qualifications. They will have experience of working in a Trauma Informed way and would ideally be a Trauma Informed Practitioner. They will have experience of Child Protection, Children Looked After, Early Help and of working with external agencies.

You'll also be inventive and flexible. We are seeking candidates who are dedicated to serving a diverse community and bring with them experiences and viewpoints that will enhance our efforts. You will play a key role in promoting and maintaining a safe and supportive environment for all students by ensuring that safeguarding policies and practices are effectively implemented, monitored, and reviewed.
Core Purpose of the Role
To act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) and play a central role in promoting, embedding and strengthening a culture of safeguarding across the school. The postholder will lead on complex safeguarding and child protection matters, support early help and intervention, and ensure statutory requirements and Trust expectations are met to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people.
The above duties are not exhaustive and the postholder may be required to undertake tasks, roles and responsibilities as may be reasonably assigned to them by the DSL and/or Leadership Team.
