What skills and experience we're looking for

About the Role: We are looking to appoint a School Attendance Assistant to work within a friendly, committed and hard-working team in our school office. This is a varied role involving many aspects of school administration.

The successful candidate will be efficient and conscientious, with excellent organisational skills.

The main duties of the job will include:

1. To contribute to support the provision of a responsive and comprehensive high quality support service to help improve overall school attendance in school.

2. To support the school to ensure the achievement of attendance objectives.

3. To undertake reception duties.

4. To undertake routine clerical and administrative support duties.

5. To maintain manual and computerised records and management information systems.

6. To be aware and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health and safety, security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person as soon as they arise.

About the candidate: The successful candidate will:

1. Knowledge and understanding of working with children, young people and families and dealing with barriers to education.

2. Excellent IT, written, oral and listening communication skills.

3. Have good interpersonal skills and a pleasant manner.

4. Have a good sense of humour, ability to work calmly in stressful situations and work effectively as part of a team.

5. Be willing to enter fully into life of the school.
