About the Role
As our School Business Lead, you will take responsibility for the effective and efficient running of the school office and business functions. You’ll work closely with the Headteacher and SLT to drive high‑quality administration, financial planning, personnel processes, and operational support across the school.
You’ll lead an enthusiastic administrative team, ensuring our office delivers a welcoming, professional and highly organised service for staff, pupils, parents, governors and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
In this varied and rewarding role, you will:
- Lead and develop administrative, financial and support functions to meet current and future school needs.
- Manage and motivate office staff, ensuring high standards, clear performance expectations, and a positive working culture.
- Oversee quality assurance across all support functions, ensuring information systems and processes remain accurate, efficient and compliant.
- Support the Headteacher and SLT with budget setting, monitoring and reporting, while managing allocated budgets effectively.
- Lead procurement activity, including sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts and ensuring best value.
- Take ownership of personnel administration and take the lead in the school for HR, policies, procedures and compliance matters.
- Resolve complex operational issues and ensure processes run smoothly across the school.
- Build strong relationships with parents, colleagues, governors and external partners.
You will also contribute to the wider life of the school, undertake relevant CPD and maintain a positive, solutions‑focused approach in all aspects of your work.
