The Role:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated School Business Manager to join our Senior leadership team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the strategic and operational management of the school’s finances, resources, premises and support services

As the School Business Manager (SBM), you will oversee the operation of the school's business functions, including finance, health and safety, IT, premises management.

You will provide guidance on and implement the daily support necessary for the school to run smoothly and efficiently, allowing other members of the leadership team to concentrate on teaching and learning.

The role:

We are seeking an experienced, proactive, and highly motivated School Business Manager to join our leadership team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the strategic and operational management of the school’s finances, resources, premises and support services to ensure the efficient running of the school.

Key Responsibilities: -

  • Leads on the school’s financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.

  • Lead on the management of the school’s premises, ensuring a healthy, safe, secure, and effective learning environment.

  • Develop, manage and implement policies related to finance, HR, health and safety, and data protection.

  • Lead and manage IT service and functions across the sites

  • Work closely with the Headteacher and Governors to support strategic planning and decision-making.

Person Specification:

  • Proven experience in financial and resource management, preferably within an educational setting.

  • Strong leadership and people management skills.

  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Knowledge of HR, health and safety, and facilities management.

  • Relevant qualifications in business management, finance, or a related field are desirable.
