School Business Manager job summary
About this Role
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic School Business Manager to join our Senior Leadership Team. This opportunity arises as our current Business Manager transitions to reduced working hours.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in senior-level leadership within a school or a comparable setting, with proven expertise in managing key operational areas such as finance, HR, premises, administration, and health and safety. This role is ideal for an experienced School Business Manager seeking a part-time position (2–2 ½ days per week, with some flexibility) or a highly capable Operations and Compliance Manager looking to transition into the education sector.
The successful candidate will:
- Demonstrate outstanding business management practices
- Have experience in leading and developing teams
- Be skilled in project management and strategic planning
- Be highly motivated, collaborative, and forward-thinking
- Serve as a role model with experience in performance management and staff development
- Have a strong track record in financial management, including income generation initiatives
