The Role

Are you a strategic, forward-thinking business leader ready to make a lasting impact on the lives of young people? We are seeking to appoint an experienced, dynamic, and highly motivated School Business Manager to join our Senior Leadership Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the operational success of a vibrant and ambitious secondary school at the heart of the East Manchester community. The successful candidate will lead on financial planning and management, oversee the delivery of key support services, including administration, estates, health and safety, project management, catering, and technical support, and take a proactive role in marketing and promoting the school. The postholder will also be responsible for the training and development of support staff, ensuring the smooth and effective running of the school’s operational functions.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for a strategic leader who can bring out the best in others and drive continuous improvement across support services. The ideal candidate will be an articulate and influential communicator with proven leadership and management experience. You will be educated to degree level or possess equivalent relevant experience, with strong numeracy and literacy skills, and hold a Level 4 Diploma in School Business Management (or equivalent Business/Finance qualification such as CSBM or DSBM). You will be highly motivated, systems-minded, and capable of translating strategy into action. Working closely with both middle and senior leadership teams, you will ensure that all staff are supported by an efficient and effective business support service. Your ability to build strong relationships with staff, stakeholders, and students will be key to enabling our school community to thrive and achieve its full potential.
