General overview of responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the school's financial operations, budgeting and financial reporting

  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures in line with school objectives

  • As a member of the SLT collaborate with school leadership to formulate strategic plans and contribute to the overall development of the institution

  • Understand and lead on ICT and management communication systems

  • Lead the administration team, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, including human resources, procurement and facilities management

  • Manage relationships with external stakeholders, such as vendors, contractors and regulatory bodies

  • Manage health and safety arrangements, in liaison with the headteacher and site manager, ensuring these practices meet statutory obligations and they are reflected in the school’s Health and Safety Policy

  • Provide strategic advice to senior leadership on resource allocation and financial decision-making

  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations and best practices in school administration

  • Understand the school's safeguarding procedures and lead on the management and upkeep of the SCR in conjunction with the DSL

  • Lead on facilities and property management
