IDENTIFIED BY OFSTED AND SIAMS AS “OUTSTANDING” “Naturally, pupils and Sixth Formers love coming here and are inspired to achieve.” (Dec. 2021) School Counsellor 17.5hrs – 2.5 days/week (8.30am-4.30pm; 8.30am-11.00am) 38 weeks/year, term time only (0.3946 FTE, subject to agreed hours) Bucks Pay Scale 6:31-35 £30,888 - £34,014 FTE (Actual £12,188 - £13,421) The school is seeking to appoint a well-qualified and experienced Counsellor to work with individual students and to join the school’s established Counselling Service. The ideal person will be passionate about young people’s social and emotional welfare, and have an understanding of counselling within a school context. Supervision will be provided as part of the support for you, and to ensure a safe and caring service for our young people. Relationships between students and staff are excellent at Waddesdon. The most recent SIAMS inspection (March 2018) celebrated this in the following way: “Relationships are shaped by the focus on the twin values of dignity and respect. There is a palpable sense of Waddesdon being a safe and secure place to be, of a community built on good humour, mutual support and love of self and neighbour; this is seen in lessons and around the school.” The school is equally strong in terms of results, with a Progress 8 score of 0.5 in 2019, and was placed in the top 20% for attainment of all schools nationally. There are realistic expectations regarding balancing family and leisure time and workload. Governors have recently changed the Admissions Policy to include children of staff members.
