School Office Administrator job summary

Flixton Girls School is part of Vantage CE Academies Trust and is one of 10 schools across Manchester, Trafford, Salford, Bolton and Knowsley.


The Governors and Principal of our school are seeking to appoint an experienced, driven and forward thinking School Office Administrator who will develop and deliver efficient and professional administration providing high level service to the stakeholders of Flixton Girls School. The job holder will work closely with the principal, school operations manager and senior leadership team to ensure that the school’s objectives are supported by an efficient and effective administration.


The post holder will carry out a range of administrative duties, including:

* Responding to internal and external stakeholders via the school office mailbox

* Maintaining all student records accurately including student financial records and dining room accounts

* Being an Arbor Champion responsible for rolling out system updates and changes to internal stakeholders

* Playing an active part in the school's Operational team

* Managing the school's admission process

* Supporting with attendance monitoring and reporting when needed

* Supporting classroom-based staff with administrative needs

* Accurately entering data into the school's management information systems


The successful candidate must have:

•              GCSE Maths and English (minimum grade C or equivalent)

•           Demonstrable experience in an administration role in a highly pressurised environment

•              Excellent communication skills both written and oral

•              The willingness to operate as part of a team, carrying out tasks beyond the job description when occasion demands or opportunities exist

•              The ability to respond proactively to unexpected problems and situations

•              Flexibility and willingness to put in extra hours when required to support school events or meetings

Actual Salary £25,270 Term Time Only plus 10 Days (5 INSET plus 5 additional days)


Appointments made are subject to an enhanced DBS check, suitable references and pre employment checks being received. References will be requested prior to interview.
