School Site Supervisor job summary

The Site Supervisor is responsible to the Headteacher for providing a wide range of proactive and planned maintenance and refurbishment services for both buildings and grounds, and ensuring compliance with all Health & Safety legislation and recommended practice relevant to the role. Liaison with external contractors, including catering, cleaning and grounds maintenance teams, to ensure efficient and effective service, is required.

36.5 hours per week

Hours of work: 36.5 hours per week 6am - 2pm (45 minute unpaid lunch)

As the building site supervisor you will be responsible for maintaining the school premises in a state of good order. The aim is to ensure that the activities of pupils and staff can take place unimpeded in a clean, attractive and tidy environment.

The successful candidate will:

  • Maintain the School buildings and grounds to include cleaning, decorating and minor repairs
  • Provide security of the premises to include opening up and responding to the School’s alarms.
  • Undertake porterage of furniture and equipment as required.
  • Operate the heating plant and other management systems.
  • Perform duties associated with the use of the premises out of school hours.
  • Be responsible for waste management.
  • Have good working knowledge and understanding of current health and safety legislation
  • Liaise with contractors.
