What skills and experience we're looking for
Responsibilities
The technician supports learning across Art and Technology by preparing materials, assisting with demonstrations, and managing resources, inventory, and risk assessments. Core duties ensure a safe environment: arranging regular safety inspections and maintaining tidy, hazard-free teaching rooms. Technology specific duties include basic maintenance and setting up of workshop tools, supporting CAD/CAM, and operating heat treatment facilities.
Food duties involve managing hygiene, restocking consumables, and handling laundry. Art support includes preparing materials like clay and cutting textiles, and completing administrative paperwork for gallery visits.

Qualifications
Essential skills include the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of audiences, maintain confidentiality, and utilize standard ICT packages. The individual must demonstrate excellent time management and organisation skills, coupled with the ability to prioritise their own workload.
The willingness and ability to obtain further qualifications and training and development is essential. Desirable qualifications include a Food Hygiene Certificate or a relevant certificate for using RMT Machinery. Experience of working in a school environment or within a specific curriculum area is desirable.
