What skills and experience we're looking for


  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
  • A Science related degree
  • This post is suitable for both experienced candidates and those new to the profession


  • The ability to teach Science to Key Stage 4 (and potentially Key Stage 5 if desired)
  • A passion for Science and a commitment to embedding a lifelong love of learning to our students
  • A high expectation for students of all abilities

The Blandford School is a successful and oversubscribed 11-18 comprehensive school with high aspirations for our students, situated in the beautiful county of Dorset, 30 minutes from the beaches of Poole and Bournemouth and 40 minutes from the New Forest National Park. With outstanding modern facilities, and inspirational and dedicated staff, our students achieve above the national average and progress to a wide range of destinations. Performance in Science is extremely strong and the department is led by an inspirational leader who has supported a range of colleagues in developing their teaching and also to move into leadership positions.

The Blandford School is seeking to appoint a highly motivated Science Teacher (all specialisms will be considered) to join our thriving and supportive school. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to teach across the age range in a dynamic and highly successful faculty.
