What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed and engaging science teacher to join our fantastic school. The successful candidate will work within an ambitious, vibrant and high performing department to instil a love of science in all students. The department runs multiple A-Level classes in each of Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Environmental Science, and an ability to teach one of those to A-Level would be expected of the successful candidate. The department achieved a value-added score of +0.7 at GCSE last year, significantly above national average, plus excellent A-Level outcomes and has a strong track record of large numbers of students going on to study science related courses at university.

What the school offers its staff

We are due to re-locate to a brand new ‘state of the art’ school building on a new site less than half a mile from our current location. This exciting project will provide us with a fantastic new learning environment, supported by cutting edge technology, and huge opportunities for the future.

The school provides a supportive environment in which both 'early career’ and experienced teachers have excellent opportunities to develop. A formidable range of extra-curricular activities are available to students which include numerous overseas trips, languages exchanges, cultural visits, first class fixture cards in all major sports, a diverse and high-quality music and drama programme, DofE, debating, public speaking and much more. The school places a strong emphasis on staff development and the appointed candidate can expect to gain significant enjoyment and professional fulfilment from working here.

Commitment to safeguarding

TBSHS is committed to safeguarding and promoting the safety and welfare of all our children and expects staff to share this commitment. A Disclosure Barring Service check is required for all successful applicants.
