Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 10.00 - 3.30 daily, term time only (less 30 minutes unpaid lunch daily) *occasional additional hours may be requested to assist with open evenings etc
Salary: H3 5-6 (Fringe) £25,583- £25,989 + £729 FTE, £14,878 - £15,107 actual pro-rata (25 hours per week) paid over 12 months

St Mary’s Catholic School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Technician to join our Science Team in our Outstanding secondary school. Are you a self-motivated, confident, and skilled individual looking to make a difference to the education of young people aged 11-18?

You must have a working understanding of chemicals and solutions and be enthusiastic about science. However, whether you are a science graduate looking to get involved in education, perhaps as a first step towards teaching, an experienced science technician looking to work in a supportive and successful science department or this is your first step into a career in science, we can tailor the support to you.
As a Science Technician, you will join a dedicated team of science technicians and teachers and play a pivotal role in supporting the smooth and effective running of the Science Department. Responsibilities include preparing and maintaining equipment, chemicals, and materials for practical lessons; supporting health and safety procedures; maintaining laboratories; and ensuring students have access to resources required to excel.
