Science Technician job summary
Clarendon Academy is looking for a skilled Science technician to provide technical support for teaching and learning in our Science classrooms, with effect from September 2025. This is a wonderful opportunity to join our dedicated team of technicians and be involved in the preparation, creation and provision of equipment and resources for lessons in Physics, Chemistry and Biology across all Key Stages (up to and including A-level).
Working Hours: Part Time (13 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 39 weeks per year including Teacher Training days).
Clarendon Academy is a thriving co-educational, non-denominational secondary school and sixth form, educating young people between the ages of 11 and 18. Located in the bustling town of Trowbridge, Wiltshire, and in easy commuter distance from Bath, we pride ourselves on being a centre of excellence and a place where young, enthusiastic children enter in Year 7 and leave us at the end of Year 13 as fully rounded young adults. The successful candidate must be able to work with a variety of staff and students, possess a can-do and flexible attitude and be very well-organised with a good practical aptitude. This is a varied and busy role with a demanding workload, which involves producing accurate work to tight deadlines, so applicants must possess excellent time management skills. Previous experience of working in an educational environment is advantageous.

- Can observe Health & Safety regulations fully and identify possible risks;
- Holds current First Aid, or is willing to undertake training;
- Enjoys working with young people and supporting them in lessons.
