What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking to recruit a Science Technician to support the Science Department Team in the provision of timely and effective support for students and staff. The successful candidate will undertake the following tasks:

• perform laboratory tests in order to produce reliable and precise data to support scientific investigations;
• carry out routine tasks accurately and to carry out analyses;
• prepare samples and solutions;
• construct, maintain and operate standard laboratory equipment, for example ensure the laboratory is well-stocked, resourced and tidy;
• keeping up to date with technical developments, especially those which can save time and improve reliability;
• keeping up to date with Health and Safety requirements
• following and ensuring strict safety procedures and safety checks are adhered to.
