💰 Salary: Leadership Scale Level 1 to 3 £51,773 to £54,394 (depending on experience and qualifications)
🕒 Hours: Full-Time – 40 hours per week – Fixed Term Contract until Easter 2027

Aurora Summerfields School opened in April 2023 and is already making a meaningful impact. With a proposed capacity of 50 students, we are an independent specialist school supporting children and young people aged 5–19 with Autism spectrum conditions and associated challenges in accessing education.

🎯 The Role
We’re seeking an exceptional Assistant Head Teacher to join our Senior Leadership Team. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of the school, driving continuous improvement, and fostering a culture of excellence, inclusion, and wellbeing.
You will:
- Lead by example, modelling outstanding SEN practice and a positive, inclusive ethos.
- Support the Head of School in delivering high standards of teaching and learning across the curriculum.
- Champion staff development through coaching, mentoring, and professional learning.
- Oversee transitions for pupils at key stages and into post-16 pathways.
- Promote emotional wellbeing by liaising with internal and external support services.
- Contribute to school improvement through data analysis, lesson observations, and strategic planning.
- Take responsibility for the day-to-day running of your team and deputize for the Head of School when required.

- Has successful experience teaching pupils with ASC and ADHD.
- Has held a leadership role and contributed to school improvement.
- Demonstrates excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Is passionate about inclusive education and staff development.
- Has strong knowledge of Ofsted, Independent School Standards, and school development planning.

- Degree and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Enhanced DBS with Barred List Check
- UK Driving Licence
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- Willingness to travel occasionally for training
