This is a part time role working 2 days pers week, ideally Wednesday & Thursday (but we can be flexible) to work in our new Enhanced Learning Provision for children with SEND working alongside SEND teaching assistants. Experience with children with ASD or in a small specialist provision is preferred. The pupils will be from a variety of primary year groups and will work on a bespoke curriculum with a number of play based activities. The school also has a SENDCo and an Academy Head of SEND to provide support. The advertised salary will also have an additional SEND allowance added on top. We are happy to accept applications from experienced teachers, ECTs or unqualified teachers/HLTAs who have experience in SEND units.

Broadmead Primary School (part of The Pioneer Academy trust) is a large, two-form entry school in the Selhurst area of Croydon, with a modern building and fantastic grounds. More importantly we have amazing children and a large team of staff who work hard to ensure that everyone learns to succeed. we are committed to children's excellence, being the best they can be and learning the skills they need to succeed. We know that the key to this is developing self confidence in learning and we do that through learning that is engaging and relevant and ensures enjoyment. We believe that everyone has the right to learn, whoever they are, whatever they can and can't yet do, and that together, we are stronger.

At Broadmead Primary, we are building on the success of our Enhanced Learning Provision (ELP) at The Crescent Primary (also part of The Pioneer Academy), and opening a new ELP at our school, a provision for pupils with a diagnosis of ASD. Learning provisions offer appropriate placements for children and young people with the most significant needs, who require a curriculum which is wrapped around them so that they can engage in learning. Special Schools and ELPs form part of Croydon’s continuum of provision and services which the Council makes for children and young people with SEND. They offer a variety of provision through their different designations and distinctive areas of expertise. The ELP curriculum is topic based and includes a specific focus on teaching social communication skills, listening, speaking and attention. There is also a focus on sensory needs, behaviour and play. The children all have individual packages of support according to their own particular needs.

Visits to the school are encouraged and can be arranged via the school office on 0208 684 4003 Ext 0. Candidates are also welcome to visit our running ELP at The Crescent Primary which is just along the road from Broadmead, and these can be arranged by calling 0208 684 4003. There may be future opportunities to work cross both schools.
