SENCO - 0.7 - 0.8 FTE job summary

Our leadership team are looking forward to appointing a new SENCO from 1st September 2021 (but are willing to consider a January start for the right candidate).  We are looking for a passionate teacher with a genuine belief in inclusive education and the achievement of all pupils. This belief in inclusive education is central to our Catholic ethos, where every child is welcomed, protected and loved.  Whilst we ask you to share our ethos, you do not need to be a practicing Catholic to apply for this post (we have many non-Catholic members of staff).  The best candidate will be selected.

Our school has a reputation for strong and inclusive SEND provision with a dedicated teaching and support team who think outside of the box to engage and support pupils.  This is an exciting opportunity to develop our SEND and nurture provision further and the successful candidate will join a committed leadership team and make a significant contribution to the strategic oversight of SEND teaching and nurture support.

Commitment to safeguarding

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect everyone to share this commitment. This post requires applicants to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check. The possession of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining this post. All users are considered confidentially and according to the nature of the role and information disclosed. Keeping our pupils safe is our first priority. We follow safer recruitment practices as per KCSIE and will rigorously take up and check references and carry out an internet check as per guidance
