What skills and experience we're looking for
The Meadows Primary School is seeking to appoint an experienced SENCO. Duties will include:
- Determine the strategic development of SEND policy and provision in the school, including our resource base for children with Speech, Language and Communication Needs
- Be responsible for day-to-day operation of the SEND policy and co-ordination of specific provision to support individual pupils with SEND
- Provide professional guidance to colleagues, working closely with staff, parents and other agencies
- Support and further develop our staff’s understanding of the needs of SEND pupils to enable all staff to be confident teachers of SEND
- Consult with staff, parents, external agencies, and other schools to co-ordinate their contribution, provide maximum support and ensure continuity of provision
- Being an initiative-taking member of our school’s leadership team.
