What skills and experience we're looking for

The Meadows Primary School is seeking to appoint an experienced SENCO. Duties will include:

  • Determine the strategic development of SEND policy and provision in the school, including our resource base for children with Speech, Language and Communication Needs
  • Be responsible for day-to-day operation of the SEND policy and co-ordination of specific provision to support individual pupils with SEND
  • Provide professional guidance to colleagues, working closely with staff, parents and other agencies
  • Support and further develop our staff’s understanding of the needs of SEND pupils to enable all staff to be confident teachers of SEND
  • Consult with staff, parents, external agencies, and other schools to co-ordinate their contribution, provide maximum support and ensure continuity of provision
  • Being an initiative-taking member of our school’s leadership team.
