What skills and experience we're looking for

  • has an excellent knowledge of SEN in a primary school;
  • can play a key role by ensuring that all pupils with additional needs make accelerated progress and achieve to the best of their ability;
  • will contribute to and implement strategic plans for the provision of pupils with EHCPs;
  • will lead CPD for staff and workshops for parents;
  • can provide leadership and direction to a large staff team by providing guidance and support that ensures high quality teaching, and effective use of support and resources;
  • will professionally liaise with outside agencies/specialists to help achieve the best outcomes for pupils;
  • is a team player, has a positive outlook and a sense of humour;
  • will contribute to the wider life of the school;
  • holds the National Award for SEN Co-ordinators or the NPQ for SENCos, or is prepared to undertake the NPQ for SENCos.
