What skills and experience we're looking for
We are a vibrant, two-form entry mainstream primary school, looking to appoint a dynamic individual to fulfil the role of SENCo in our school. The right person may be an experienced SENCo, with the appropriate SENCo qualification or someone who may be working towards completion of the SENCo qualification . However this is not compulsory as the school will support the right candidate to complete the SENCo qualification. The successful applicant will work with the Headteacher and the senior leadership team to ensure the active participation, learning and achievement of all SEN pupils in our school. The role is full time with four days dedicated to the role of SENCo and one day in class teaching.
The successful candidate will need to:
•Be an exemplary teacher
•Have a passion for children’s learning and development at all levels
•Be able to accept challenges, inspire and motivate others
•Be a committed staff member and team player
In addition, under the direction of the headteacher, the successful candidate will:
•Determine the strategic development of special educational needs (SEN) policy and provision in the school.
•Be responsible for day-to day operation of the SEN policy and co ordination of specific provision to support individual pupils with SEN or a disability.
•Provide professional guidance to colleagues, working closely with staff, parents, and other agencies.
