We have an exciting opportunity for a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENCO) who can provide a strategic and operational oversight of provision for those pupils with SEND. This role has a responsibility for Safeguarding.
You will need to be an outstanding practitioner with high expectations of pupil attainment, progress and behaviour. You will need to have experience of working with children who have a range of special educational needs and be confident in overseeing the development of SEND provision in the school. You will also need to hold a NASENCo/ NPQSENCO qualification along with your Qualified Teacher Status (both are essential for the role, however we will consider candidates who are willing to work towards the NPQSENCO qualification).
Our SENCOs:
- Provide leadership and professional guidance to colleagues
- Work closely with staff, parents & carers and other agencies to ensure that children receive appropriate support and make good progress and achieve good outcomes
- Promote inclusive practice in which the interests and needs of our pupils with SEN and / or disabilities are at the heart of everything that we do
- Are able to analyse assessment data from a variety of sources to inform future whole school planning and resourcing
- Are committed to developing the full potential of all children
