We are a faith-centred Multi Academy Company based in North East Coventry, committed to ensuring that every one of our children achieves their God-given potential. As the demand for SEND provision grows, we are looking for a SEND Advisor to join our central School Improvement Team and work collaboratively with our eight schools. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of SEND support across our MAC.
The Role
As a SEND Advisor, you will:
- Provide expert advice and strategies to improve outcomes for pupils with SEND including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and complex communication needs.
- Work collaboratively with school staff, including SENCOs, Class Teachers, and Teaching Assistants, to ensure strategies are implemented, monitored, and reviewed effectively.
- Advise school leaders on the progress that has been made in provision development
- Partner with parents and families, recognising their vital role as their child’s first and most important teachers.
- Support children and young people to develop confidence and self-esteem, empowering them to thrive.
- Collaborate with professionals to plan and monitor progress for pupils with SEND including ASC and complex communication needs, contributing to My Support Plans and EHCPs.
- Provide bespoke support tailored to individual school needs, including training, group work, one-to-one interventions, observations, and parent consultations.
- Attend and contribute to Annual/Termly reviews and planning meetings, preparing reports as required.
- Design and deliver impactful training sessions for school leaders, teachers, and teaching assistants.
- Work with school leaders, our School Improvement Team, and Coventry City Council to enhance SEND provision across the MAC.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Be a qualified teacher
- Strong expertise in Autism and complex communication needs, supported by relevant experience.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with a range of stakeholders.
- A collaborative approach to working with schools, staff, and families.
- A commitment to supporting the holistic development of children and young people, ensuring they feel valued and confident.
- Experience in planning, delivering, and evaluating SEND interventions and strategies.
- A proactive attitude and a passion for making a positive impact.
- Experience of delivering training and supporting parents and other professionals in meeting needs
- Experience of teaching children with SEND and complex communication needs, within a mainstream or special school environment
