SEND Officer job summary
Full time hours preferred (8am to 4pm Monday to Friday), term time plus two weeks (41 weeks)
Working closely with the SENDCo and Deputy SENDCo, you will oversee the statutory processes, maintain impeccable records, and serve as a key point of contact for families, staff, and external agencies.
The role involves providing high-level administrative expertise to the SEND leadership team, with specific responsibility for coordinating the statutory EHCP annual review cycle. The SEND Officer will ensure the school remains fully compliant with the SEND Code of Practice while maintaining proactive and professional communication with key stakeholders: parents, school staff, and external agencies.

We are looking for someone who brings a blend of exceptional administrative skill and genuine empathy. The ideal candidate will have:
Experience: Previous experience working within a school SEND department or local authority SEND team is highly desirable.
Knowledge: A solid understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and EHCP processes.
Organisation: Incredible attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive situations with warmth, discretion, and professionalism.
Tech-Savvy: High proficiency in school Management Information Systems (e.g., SIMS, Bromcom) and MS Office/Google Workspace.
