Job Title: SENDCO

We are seeking a passionate and experienced SEND professional to lead and develop our inclusive provision, ensuring every pupil receives the support, challenge and opportunities they need to thrive. Working closely with staff, families and external agencies, you will oversee our enhanced provision and champion high-quality SEND practice across the academy. This role also includes some ad hoc teaching within the enhanced provision, providing an exciting opportunity to combine strategic leadership with direct impact in the classroom, helping pupils achieve their full potential in a nurturing and ambitious learning environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead, develop and evaluate the academy's SEND provision, ensuring pupils with additional needs receive high-quality support and achieve positive outcomes.
  • Act as the academy's SENDCO, maintaining oversight of SEND identification, assessment, provision planning and statutory processes.
  • Manage and coordinate the Enhanced Provision, ensuring bespoke support programmes meet the individual needs of pupils.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff to promote inclusive teaching practices and ensure appropriate adaptations are in place across the curriculum.
  • Monitor pupil progress, analyse SEND data and implement targeted interventions to remove barriers to learning.

Pay range:

  • M1 - U3 plus SEND £2,308.00 allowance: £29,563.20- £44,576.00
  • FTE: £36,954.00 - £55,720.00 (includes £2,885.00 SEND allowance)
  • 26 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
  • Permanent

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (or recognised equivalent)
  • Proven experience of supporting and improving outcomes for pupils with SEND, including those with complex learning, communication and behavioural needs.
  • Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice, EHCP processes and relevant SEND legislation.
  • Experience of leading, coordinating or managing SEND provision within a school setting.
  • Ability to analyse pupil progress data and use this information to inform effective interventions and provision planning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families, colleagues and external professionals.
