Responsible to: Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team (SLT)

Responsible for: SEND provision

We are currently recruiting for a SENDCo for two days a week working as part of our amazing SEND team. You will be working alongside our experienced SENDCo, contributing to whole school Inclusion and planning for and supporting our new internal alternative provision, the ‘Anchor’ room.

Main purpose

The SENDCo, under liaison with and the direction of the headteacher, will:

  • Determine the strategic development of special educational needs (SEND) policy and provision in the school

  • Be responsible for day-to-day operation of the SEND policy and coordination of specific provision to support individual pupils with SEND or a disability, particularly our children in attendance at the Anchor room.

  • Provide professional guidance to colleagues, working closely with staff, parents and other agencies

  • The SENDCO will also be expected to fulfil the professional responsibilities of a teacher, as set out in the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document
