About the Trust

Ebor Academy Trust is a family of schools located across North and East Yorkshire, York and the Humber region. We think of ourselves as being one school across many sites, working collaboratively to deliver high quality, rich and engaging education in our diverse communities. Our aims are to enable all our learners to flourish and to open doors for their very best futures.

We genuinely seek to live by our values of Excellence, Belonging, Opportunity and Respect; these underpin how we work and how we relate to each other. We have high ambitions for our learners and staff and aim to deliver this through a culture of continuous development, support, kindness and understanding. We are a friendly trust that puts people first.

About the role

Working within a very busy school office and closely with the Operational Business Partner, you will be responsible for a range of receptionist and clerical duties. Central to this will be to provide a welcoming and efficient first point of contact for parents and visitors to the school, whether at the front desk, on the telephone, or by email. You will be able to multi task and prioritise in an efficient manner whilst still maintaining your attention to detail.

In addition, you will use a variety of IT systems to record school data, produce reports and generate letters and other communications. You will also take responsibility for recording and monitoring pupil absences and reporting on this as appropriate. You will also oversee the first aid provision within the school.

The job requirements

We are looking for a highly competent and experienced Administration Assistant who is able to manage the systems and processes in our busy school effectively. As well as being a confident and capable user of various IT systems, you will also be willing to learn how to operate our various software packages to allow the smooth running of our school office.

Whilst experience of working in an education setting is highly desirable, it is not essential however you will have an understanding of special educational needs, child protection and safeguarding issues, as well as excellent organisational and time management skills.

You will be driven by providing good customer service in all that you do for the benefit of our most important people - our children. A commitment to keeping children safe and the ability to respect the values of the school are also of fundamental importance.

Working with us

Although our administrative staff work in small school-based teams, the systems used are the same across the trust, meaning help and support is never far away. We ensure full training is provided, whether it’s through courses, apprenticeships or coaching and mentoring. What is essential is the desire to learn and a commitment to providing excellent customer service at all times to school staff, parents and our pupils.

When you join our Trust, you’ll start with a friendly induction to help you feel settled from day one. From there, you’ll get role-specific training and plenty of opportunities to keep learning and growing, whether through ongoing CPD, apprenticeships, or longer-term development programmes like our Ebor career pathways.

We’re proud to have high staff engagement, with great feedback in our staff surveys and from our exit interviews. People enjoy working here, feel supported, and know they’re making a difference.

We offer generous benefits too, including access to free private GP and nurse appointments, counselling services, and wellbeing support for you and your family. You’ll also get great discounts at high street stores and travel companies, free parking at all our schools, a brilliant pension, and family-friendly policies.

We’re committed to being an inclusive and diverse place to work, where everyone feels they belong. We welcome people from all backgrounds and walks of life and treat every application fairly and equally.

Keeping children safe is at the heart of everything we do. That’s why we follow safer recruitment practices (including enhanced DBS checks) and we ask all applicants to complete on online application (we don’t accept CVs).

If you feel that you align to our values of Excellence, Belonging, Opportunity and Respect and you want to help shape the lives of the next generation, then we would love to hear from you.
