Senior Caretaker
Job Title: Senior Caretaker (with On-site Accommodation)
Reporting to: Assistant Business Manager
Salary: £28,163 - £30,060
Grade: Grade 7
Hours: 37 hours per week, working weeks and hours during the school holidays are negotiable
Benefits: Package allowance (Substantial reduction in rent on a 3-bedroom semi-detached house), onsite accommodation , holiday entitlement of 25 days per year plus bank holidays, generous pension scheme, employee assistant scheme and more!
Contract: Permanent, all year round
The School
Matthew Arnold is a thriving community school on the outskirts of Oxford, seeking a Senior Caretaker. This is an exciting opportunity to advance your career.
The school is an oversubscribed, inclusive 11-18 institution with 1,300+ pupils, serving urban and rural areas in west Oxford. We pride ourselves on high achievement, particularly for disadvantaged students, driven by continuous staff development.
The Role
We are looking to recruit a well organised and efficient individual to be a member of the site team. The role would support the Assistant Business Manager as part of a team and provide a key role in maintaining the school site to a high standard. This would involve undertaking general maintenance and development of the school premises and providing security including locking up the school site and caretaking services. The role will also include supporting the school’s estate maintenance and compliance with health and safety standards.
For those appointed, rent is paid at 8% of salary for this role which is approximately £250 per calendar month.
Requirements
- Current, clean driving licence
- Required to undertake an enhanced DBS check
- Previous experience Handyperson or professional trade experience
- Good numeracy/literacy skills
Experience of providing a responsive, customer focused service
