Senior Playworker job summary

Dorridge Primary School, a large three form entry, community Primary school with a nursery, offers high quality wraparound care in a purpose-built provision, known as Darby’s. We would like to appoint dynamic, dedicated and qualified Play Workers to join our Before & After School Club provision.

This is a permanent, part-time contract on an hourly rate of £12.80 plus holiday pay.

Grade: Hours of Work: Various sessions available.

Breakfast club: 7:45am – 8:45am

Teatime club: 3:15pm – 6:00pm

We wish to appoint Playworkers, with a recognised Level 3 qualification in childcare; there are various shifts available, so we can be flexible with the hours offered.

Main duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing a varied, stimulating and exciting range of activities that meet the children’s developmental needs.
  • Ensuring the facility is ready for use, by setting up and clearing away.
  • Working as part of a highly motivated and professional team.
  • Establishing positive relationships with children and their families.
  • Working in close partnership with all school staff and support the whole school ethos.

The ideal candidate will be able to:

  • To adhere to and promote all school policies.
  • To safeguard children and promote health and safety.
  • To promote good practise in a professional and inclusive manner.
  • Maintaining a close liaison with class teachers in order to be aware of and respond appropriately to the needs of all children in your care.
  • Take responsibility for personal professional development, including participation in own annual appraisal, any necessary training, and keeping abreast of all current issues relating to providing this service.

Qualification/s required:

  • Level 3 Qualification in Childcare
