Step into a pivotal role at the heart of a thriving academy! As Senior Premises Assistant, you’ll play a key part in keeping a large, busy site running safely, smoothly, and efficiently. Working closely with the Premises Manager, you’ll be hands-on in every aspect of site management — helping to create a secure, welcoming, and well-maintained environment for staff, students, and visitors alike.

This is more than just a support role — you’ll take the lead when it matters most. Deputising in the Premises Manager’s absence, you’ll guide and motivate the Premises Team while championing a strong, proactive Health & Safety culture. About you:

  • Experience of managing sites or of working in facilities management.
  • Experience of preparing risk assessments.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work to set deadlines but also flexible and adaptable to deal with adhoc issues as they arise.
  • Experience of inducting, working with and supervising contractors.
  • Ability to source suppliers and contractors and negotiate best value for money.
  • Experience of carrying out planned preventative maintenance.
  • Experience of understanding site related reports i.e., asbestos, H&S audit, Fire Risk Assessments, Water Risk Assessments, etc.
  • Good IT skills – able to use Microsoft Office Programs.
