Pay Scale: Catalyst Academies Trust Band C/D (depending on experience).

Weeks: 52 weeks per year. 6.8 weeks holiday (inc. BH's) - to be taken during school holiday periods.

Somers Heath Primary School is looking for a self-motivated and practical person to take on the role of Site Manager at our school. The children in our community deserve an excellent education, the Site Manager plays a vital part in this by ensuring that the building is safe and ready for teaching and learning to take place. They will need to demonstrate a firm commitment to the school and its ethos.

Somers Heath is a two form entry primary school with a newly refurbished building and a large site. This role will suit someone who is organised, practical and friendly and who will have a flexible approach to their work and the ability to work independently. The post holder will need to lead a small team of cleaners and liaise with contractors and tradesman as well as students and staff. They will have strong DIY and handyman skills, e.g. decorating, carpentry, plumbing and be willing to learn how to use the systems in the building. The successful candidate will be responsible for making sure the site is safe, secure, well maintained and clean every day.

Duties will include general repairs and maintenance, cleaning, locking and unlocking premises, general security, porterage, DIY, record keeping, etc. A full job description is attached to this advert.

Ideally, you will possess an awareness of COSHH, Safe Manual Handling practices and Health & Safety and have prior experience of working within a similar setting. (Although, this is not essential.)

Full driving licence and use of your own car is essential as you may be required to attend the school outside of normal working hours.
