Site Manager job summary
We are looking for a skilled and reliable Site Manager to take a leading role in the management, care, and development of the school premises at University Academy Long Sutton. This is a varied and hands-on position where no two days are the same, and you will be central to ensuring our Academy is safe, welcoming, and well-maintained for pupils, staff, and visitors alike.
As Site Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the security of the site, acting as keyholder and first point of contact in the event of incidents or emergencies. You will oversee the efficient running of essential services such as heating, lighting, water, and energy management, as well as carry out or oversee routine maintenance, repairs, and safety checks in line with health and safety regulations. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records, completing compliance checks, and ensuring the Principal is fully informed on all premises matters.
You will manage a repairs and maintenance budget, source quotations, and liaise with contractors to ensure work is completed to a high standard. Alongside this, you will work closely with and supervise the caretaker and cleaning staff, ensuring the site is consistently safe, clean, and presented to the highest standard, including outdoor areas, pathways, and facilities.
The role also includes a range of practical, hands-on tasks such as minor repairs, porterage duties, overseeing deliveries, and ensuring equipment and materials are safely stored and maintained. Seasonal and site-specific tasks, such as gritting pathways in winter, managing drainage, or supporting lettings, will also form part of your day-to-day responsibilities.
This role is ideally suited to someone who is highly organised, takes pride in their work, and has the flexibility and initiative to respond to the changing needs of a busy school environment. You will play a vital part in ensuring that University Academy Long Sutton remains a safe, secure, and inspiring place to work and learn.
Early applications are encouraged. We reserve the right to interview and appoint prior to the closing date of the advertisement, should we identify an appropriate candidate.
