Site Manager - Woodcot Primary School

30 to 37 hours per week (Full-time or Part-time) - Negotiable

Example of working hours for the Full-time role - Monday to Friday 7.00 am to 3.00pm

This role is starting at 7.00am with the responsibility of unlocking the school site at this time.

Salary - £27,000 - £30,000 FTE

Working weeks - Negotiable

44 weeks (term-time only, plus insets plus 5 extra weeks to be worked in the school holidays) OR 52 weeks, with 5.6 weeks paid holiday plus bank holidays

You can expect every day to be varied and busy as you support our staff and pupils by providing a safe, secure and well-maintained school environment.

Team working is an essential skill in this role as well as being able to demonstrate your ability to work independently in line with the School’s vision. A good communicator, you’ll have skills to ensure the maintenance, upkeep and development of the school buildings and its infrastructure to required compliancy and cleanliness standards.

You will have a strong enthusiasm to work in a school environment, be proactive, dynamic and have the ability to prioritise the daily tasks. You will have relevant experience including basic DIY skills. Lifting, moving and handling of furniture and deliveries also form an important part of the job.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have good DIY skills and be happy to work on a wide range of tasks to ensure our buildings and grounds are maintained to a high standard.
  • Be happy to work both inside and outdoors in all weathers
  • Take responsibility for security and be a key holder opening up the school each day
  • Have pride in their working environment and want the best for our pupils
  • Have a “can do” attitude and a willingness to learn new skills
  • Maintain health and safety standards at all times making sure the school is compliant with legal and regulatory standards related to buildings and health and safety
  • Have knowledge of Health & Safety and hygiene procedures and precautions
  • Carry out the compliance checks and inspections as required (Full training can be provided)
  • Manage and support the cleaning team
  • Have good computer skills
  • Be a reliable team player who demonstrates good communication skills that allows effective communication with all levels of school staff, governors, pupils and contractors
