The Candidate

We are looking for an individual who is hardworking, active, flexible and able to use their initiative to join our Trust.

You will be expected to take responsibility for the daily running of all site related matters including the provision of maintenance, janitorial, cleaning and security services. Be able to resolve problems as they arise, prioritising tasks as required, work under own initiative and take pride in all areas of your work.

To be successful in the role you should be able to demonstrate good literacy and numeracy skills and be able to relate well to children and interact with them in a friendly and positive manner. Previous experience as a Caretaker or experience in the building trade is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.

About the Role

Carry out and record statutory checks and help maintain Health and Safety records

Maintenance of property and grounds to a high standard including liaising with contractors

Monitor site stock and order supplies

Carry out DIY tasks as they arise to a respectable standard

Willingness to attend training courses including Health and Safety

To be responsible for regular checking and testing of fire alarm and emergency lighting

Checking heating and water systems

Regularly checking and ensuring the condition and safety of tools and access equipment

To ensure that external areas, paths and drives remain free from litter and hazardous material and that drains and gullies are free flowing and clean as appropriate

To ensure that pathways are clear of snow and apply salt when required, keeping records of this action

Liaising with other members of the Site team on a regular basis to ensure suitable handover of tasks.
