Site Supervisor (L1) job summary
We are seeking a dedicated Site Supervisor to ensure our school remains a secure, safe and hygenic space for all pupils, staff and visitors.
George Pindar School is an 11-16 secondary school situated in Scarborough. In this role you will manage our school grounds, carrying out daily security checks, locking and unlocking the buildings, handling porterage and deliveries, and carrying out essential minor maintenance and repairs. From monitoring our heating systems to ensuring safe site access during adverse winter weather, your hands-on work will directly contribute to a smooth-running, welcoming school day.
Beyond the day-to-day upkeep, you will play a pivotal leadership role by supervising our cleaning team and ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness are maintained across the entire estate. Safety is at the heart of everything we do; you will be responsible for conducting informal risk assessments, managing COSHH-regulated materials safely, and welcoming contractors onto the site. If you are a strong communicator who is deeply committed to health and safety, data protection, and safeguarding the welfare of young people, we would love to welcome you to our supportive team.
To thrive in this role, you will be a self-motivated and highly punctual professional who takes immense pride in their work. We are looking for someone with experience in general cleaning, caretaking and minor repairs alongside a strong awareness of health and safety protocols. Due to the diverse nature of the role a flexible, detail-oriented approach is absolutely essential.
The proposed working pattern for this role will be Monday -Friday, alternating weekly Week 1 - 6.30am-2.30pm (2.00pm finish on a Friday), Week 2 - 11.30am-6.30pm (12.00pm start on a Friday).
