What skills and experience we're looking for
Duties and Responsibilities
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people and follow school and Trust policies including the staff code of conduct.
- Supervise student use of social and/or study base.
- To produce accurate and up to date information regarding student attendance. Make daily calls to absent students. Support the Attendance Officer with home visits as required.
- Ensure all students can access ICT equipment and Inventry. Ensure ID badges and registration details are correct and in place.
- Support the Head of Sixth Form to organise open events and parents’ evenings.

What the school offers its staff
The Academy
Shireland CBSO Academy is an exciting school which opened to Year 7 in September 2023 and is the first state school in the country to have a partnership with a professional orchestra. Based in Providence Place, West Bromwich, the Academy will work in partnership with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO) and serve all of Sandwell and the wider West Midlands. The Academy is for all students who have a passion or talent for music – they do not necessarily need to already play an instrument.
Shireland CBSO Academy opened to its first cohort of Year 7 students in September 2023. Shireland CBSO Academy Sixth Form will open in September 2024. We are looking to appoint a Sixth Form Student Support Manager to work with the Head of Sixth Form to help establish and promote student outcomes and welfare.
