What the school offers its staff

The Academy

Shireland CBSO Academy is an exciting school which opened to Year 7 in September 2023 and is the first state school in the country to have a partnership with a professional orchestra. Based in Providence Place, West Bromwich, the Academy will work in partnership with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO) and serve all of Sandwell and the wider West Midlands. The Academy is for all students who have a passion or talent for music – they do not necessarily need to already play an instrument.

Shireland CBSO Academy opened to its first cohort of Year 7 students in September 2023. Shireland CBSO Academy Sixth Form will open in September 2024. We are looking to appoint a Sixth Form Student Support Manager to work with the Head of Sixth Form to help establish and promote student outcomes and welfare.

In return we will offer:

  • Excellent career development opportunities and access to a comprehensive programme of CPD
  • An ICT-rich environment which allows staff to be innovative in harnessing technology for learning
  • The opportunity to be involved in the development of a new Academy
  • Employee Health and Wellbeing Package

The Shireland Collegiate Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.
